I have a Smart PRO / Smart COM. Is it part of the 2003 recall?

There are two methods which can be used to identify the recalled computers from the normal ones based on serial number identification. First, recalled computers have a serial number starting with 0306 or lower (example: 0305, 0208….).The non-recalled computers have a serial number starting with 0308 or greater (example: 0309, 0410, 1050….). Secondly, the position of the engraving of the serial number may also be an identification factor. The recalled Smart PROs have the serial number engraved on the left hand side of the screen. The recalled Smart COMs have the serial number engraved on the lower right side of the screen. However, non-recalled Smart PROs have the serial number engraved on the right hand side of the screen and the non-recalled Smart COMSs on the upper left side of the screen. As a general rule, usually the non-recalled computers have the engraving of the serial number and the infra-red port on the same side.

What size wetsuit/drysuit should I buy?

Check the wetsuit sizing chart available in the Wetsuit section of the web site. Where possible you should always try a product for size at your local Authorised Dealership before making a purchase as a charge could be incurred for ordering the incorrect size via some internet sites. You should always check the returns and exchanges policy of the dealer / website you are purchasing from if you are unsure.

What size BCD should I buy?

The size of BC you buy depends on the type of suit you plan to use for your dive. Adjustable jackets will allow some size adjustments or the option to use different suits with the same BC. For lift capacity, see below. As a general observation, people often buy a BC that is too big for them. A BC should have a snug but comfortable fit. A comfortable jacket shifts the heavy tank load evenly to the divers' hip area, away from chest and shoulders, and offers soft interior padding. It conforms securely to the divers' body to minimize drag and provide a nonrestrictive fit around the shoulders and waist. Where possible you should always try a product for size at your local Authorised Dealership before making a purchase as a charge could be incurred for ordering the incorrect size via some internet sites. You should always check the returns and exchanges policy of the dealer / website you are purchasing from if you are unsure.

How much lift does this BCD have?

Please see the Technical details for specific BCs, available in the Buoyancy Compensator section.

This operation can only be performed by a SCUBAPRO Certified Technician, operating at an Authorized Dealer. You can locate the Authorized Dealers in you Region or in your country by clicking on FIND A DEALER on the menu at the top of the page.

Are SCUBAPRO regulators Nitrox Compatible?

Within the European Community the use of Nitrox mixes is regulated by norms EN 13949 and EN 144-3. SCUBAPRO has designed special regulator systems that comply with the these regulations and can be used with oxygen enriched air containing an oxygen concentration higher than 21% and up to 100% at a maximum operating pressure of 200bar. They are easily identifiable with green and yellow colour accents. Regular production SCUBAPRO regulators distributed to countries outside of the European Community use normal INT or DIN connections and are manufactured with materials, assembly procedures and lubricants that ensure compatibility with gas mixes containing oxygen up to 40%. In these countries, users are required to follow the same safety procedures that apply to dedicated nitrox regulators and to comply with the regulations set by each country concerning the use on Nitrox mixes for diving. Please see our Regulator section for more details and warning regarding Nitrox diving.

Is my SCUBAPRO Titanium regulator compatible with the use of Nitrox or pure oxygen?

Titanium is not compatible with high blend Nitrox (oxygen enriched air) mixes because it may ignite when exposed to high oxygen concentrations. For this reason it is not advisable to use Titanium regulators with Nitrox but where local laws do not restrict the use of standard International fittings for Nitrox use (outside the EU for example), they may be used up to 40% Nitrox without any conversion. Titanium regulators cannot be cleaned or converted for use with Nitrox mixes higher than 40%.
