In the tropical waters of South East Asia it's easy to meet a sea turtle, causually paddling around during feeding rounds. One of the best known dive destinations in this region is Sipadan Island, Malaysia. Diving here is always good and sometimes it's simply awesome. This tiny rain forest covered island is the peak of an ancient volcano, rising up from the abysmal depths of the Celebes Sea.
A dive in this area means encounters with sharks, manta rays and other large size fish. It is also common to meet turtle groups, made up of 10-20 hawksbill or green turtles, as they swim freely around you. This quiet creature swims efficiently by rhythmically moving its fins, much as a diver might do when visiting the turtle's underwater world.
The same elegant calm found in the turtle is necessary for the diver in order to maximize the transfer of power from the leg to the fin and ensure the utmost efficiency. As divers, our goal is exploring and enjoying the underwater world, not racing to win a medal. However, a diving fin is a technological tool. Innovation and design are imperative to apply comfort, power and efficient propulsion through the water, making your dive enjoyable and allowing you to go, when and where you want.
At SCUBAPRO, fins come in two categories: blade fins and split fins. The classic blade fin provides thrust through a combination of the right materials and innovative solutions. The unique SCUBAPRO split fin leverages leading edge technology to offer maximum power with minimum effort. More precisly, split fins provide pure efficiency.
